Cultural Competence

Anyone can become a DEI professional. Anyone can complete a DEI certification process. But unfortunately, not many will be successful in effecting transformational change. Data shows that only about 15% of the population has developed the skills needed to be truly effective interacting across differences, whether personal or organizational—real cultural competence. Think about that for a minute: Only 1-2 DEI professionals out of every 10 are culturally competent enough to interact effectively in a multicultural context. Luckily, not only does our program assess your individual level of cultural competence, it’s guaranteed to help you increase it, as well as provide you with a foundational grasp of what cultural competence means in an organizational setting, and how you can use that knowledge to effect transformational change.

Strategic Action

A lot of DEI certification programs delve into the theory and history of the work. These are definitely important topics—for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. We know that DEI professionals need a certification that allows them to get to work just as soon as possible, and we present a proven framework for strategic action; a step-by-step process to achieve effective organizational results, illustrated with real-world examples from our past clients across all organizational scales and industries. We show you how to figure out what the real problems are, and then how to move forward with truly transformational change.

Adult Learning

DEI professionals in search of certification are, of course, adults. However, most programs offer vague objectives with no clear path to mastery, and no way to articulate exactly what they supposedly have learned and can do. They may finish the certification, yet still largely be in the same position they were when they started. We don’t do that. We are experts not only in adult education, but in adult education in a professional context. Our learning objectives are straightforward, clearly assessable, and transparently tracked throughout the entire program. The learner knows where they are at each step of the way and, once they’ve achieved certification, they’ll be able to communicate their new abilities unambiguously to leaders and clients. And, beyond that, they’ll be able to deliver on what they promise, every single time.
